Compensation Issues - Frequently Asked Questions

How do Area Developers make money?

Area Developers make money by selling commercial cleaning services to customers and finding cleaning franchisees to clean their customers’ buildings.  The customers that you obtain will pay Alliance and then we’ll pay you your percentage.

Here’s how it works:

  • Cleaning franchisees clean the customers’ buildings.
  • Alliance mails an invoice to the customers and the customers pay Alliance.
  • Alliance pays to you between 16.25% and 20.6% of the invoice amount.
  • Alliance retains 7.5% or more of the invoice amount.
  • Alliance pays the remainder to the cleaning franchisee after deducting fees for general liability insurance, workers’ compensation insurance, etc.

Why is owning an Area Developer business better than being an employed sales professional?

Below is a list of the typical problems that most sales professionals face with respect to their compensation plans. Have you ever experienced any of these problems?

  • Small Commissions - You earn small commissions on sales that generate thousands and thousands of dollars for your employer.
  • Stolen Accounts - You sell an account only to have your employer take the account from you.
  • Shrinking Territories - Your territory is reduced in order to limit your ability to generate commissions.
  • No Residual Income - The income that you earn from your sales is not residual income.  This means that you only receive 1 or 2 payments for a sale as opposed to being paid month after month for a single sale.
  • No Equity - Your sales skills and efforts have developed accounts for your employer and not for yourself.

You will not face any of these problems as an Area Developer of Alliance.

Employed Sales Professionals Area Developers
Small commissions Every month you can earn 16.25 - 20.6% of the revenue generated by the accounts you sell. This is 40-50% higher than most sales comission plans.
Stolen accounts We cannot take your accounts. You will enter into a contract with us that gives you certain ownership rights to all accounts you sell.
Shrinking territories We cannot shrink your territory. Your contract will give you the right to conduct business in an entire metro area.
No residual income You will earn residual income. You will receive payment month after month for each account that you sell and keep.
No equity You will earn equity in a business. Your contract gives you ownership rights in a stream of income that is generated by accounts you sell. This income stream has value that you can sell.

How Much Do Area Developers Earn for Selling and Managing a Commercial Cleaning Account?

While accounts vary in size, the following is an example of how much revenue you may receive every month if you sign an account that bills $1,000 per month.

Your monthly revenue: $206.25 Profit Margin 20.6%

Note:  The amount of the monthly revenue that you will receive from a specific account varies depending upon multiple factors.  For example, your monthly revenue may decrease after you have an account for 24 to 28 months.  The excess amount is redirected toward the cleaning franchisee as a reward for providing excellent customer service and as an incentive to continue providing excellent service.  Please contact us for more details about Area Developer compensation.
